The Royal International Pavilion, Llangollen, North Wales.

Frank Johnston  was  born in Birmingham in 1945.  He was educated in Ireland where his love of Celtic Art was nurtured and developed. His early works were based on Calligraphy and Illuminated scroll work based on the Celtic style.

He worked for many years in the computer industry  this enabled  him to travel the world extensively. He has painted all of his life and has been a dedicated professional painter since 1980. His work can be found in Institutions and Private collections all over the world. He has always loved Classical Realism and has spent several years studying the Masters, Bougereau and English Masters in particular. His love of colour is quite obvious and he uses this skill when interpreting the Masters adding his own style and colour. He has the versatility to approach any subject and instill his own vibrancy and style. Frank is a dedicated Artist not influenced by the commercialism of the Art world rather living and breathing his work, whilst living to paint.
