Stephen Whitehead 

Steve Whitehead (born 1960)

Steve was born in Coventry and studied at the University of Wales with David Tinker, graduating with an MA in the mid 80's, before continuing his studies at the Courtauld Institute of Art. He describes his work as 'Magic Realism' and his paintings' combination of strong design and virtuoso detail give them an almost surreal atmosphere that is instantly memorable. He has twice won the Wales Open and has also been a prizewinner in Manchester Academy and Hunting Art Prizes exhibitions. His paintings are held in the permanent collection of the Contemporary Art Society of Wales.
