Tony Evans
"Sculptor's career"
by Petra Mann, Liverpool Echo, Feb 4 2005
THIS magnificent metal menagerie is the creation of Liverpool
sculptor Tony Evans.
Horses, cheetah and fish fashioned from recycled copper make up this
stunning exhibition. The life-size pieces will eventually be out in
the wild, set in parks and forests.
Wavertree-born Tony, 60, has chosen an unusual medium for his art,
and can't just pop out to the high street for canvas and paint. He
said: "I scour scrap yards for the copper. Usually I can find it in
old household hot water cylinders. It's a nice soft metal and gives
a great effect."
